Chamomile flower has a variety of uses, mainly for the brain. It is helpful in managing sleep disorders such as insomnia, due to the presence of flavonoids and apigenin which can bind down to the receptors in the brain and slow down brain activity, promoting sleep. This effect is also effective for people having sleep disorders due to pain and anxiety. Smelling the oil extracted from chamomile flowers helps to produce a calming effect and reduce pain and helps in curing of mild to moderate anxiety disorders. Chamomile may also be used to cure headaches, even though more research is required to
prove its efficacy.
